Frontend Engineer

Opareta is a fintech company building digital tools for analog mobile money agent networks. By leveraging our mobile app, mobile money agents not only digitize their operations but also get access to the data analytics and working capital they need to sustainably grow their businesses.

Opareta’s platform is made up of 3 sides—an Android Java mobile app, a React web app and a Node.js backend for APIs and data ingestion and processing. We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to join our team and build and maintain platform tools used by our field and management teams.

You should be someone that likes to ship. You are comfortable working across the entire stack. You are proud of your code but knowledgeable enough to know how to manage implementation tradeoffs. You should have a product mindset — engineers on this team are product people too. The position is fully remote.

You will

• Use your passion for great user experience to develop highly performant platform applications used by our commercial operations and management teams
• Work with engineering, product, and other functions to build software that is clean, well-tested and forward-thinking
• Oversee the entirety of your features, including component design, implementation, automated testing, and roll-out
• Work with designers, product managers, data scientists, and other developers to understand our problem space and create elegant solutions
• Promote simplicity and usability of features that have complex information architecture
• Mentor junior developers in developing their code and careers

You have

• 4+ years of professional experience with JavaScript and CSS
• Deep understanding of JavaScript frameworks, must include React
• Capability to contribute to the full stack development
  • NodeJS in the backend, React in the frontend, Jest in the test environment
• Experience with programming in Typescript is a plus
• Ability to effectively communicate via written and spoken in English
• Highly self-driven, responsible and able to function autonomously to solve problems
